Dr.
Anagnostopoulos
is a retired
corporate
officer
of Monsanto
Company
having served
as Science
Fellow,
director
of research,
head of
its New
Enterprise
Division,
general
manager
of a number
of divisions
and as chairman,
managering
director
and CEO
of Monsanto
Europe-Africa-Middle
East. He
recently
retired
as managing
director
of Gateway
Associates,
a St. Louis-based
venture
capital
firm, and
as the Lead
Director
of Genzyme
Inc. He
is presently
chairman
of two biopharmaceutical
companies,
Deltagen
and Kereos,
and sites
on the board
of three
other high
technology
companies,
including
MetaPhore
Pharmaceuticals.
Dr.
Anagnostopoulos
holds
a doctorate
in organic
chemistry
from Harvard
University
and over
twenty
patents
in organic
and polymer
chemistry.
He has
served
on the
Presidential
Council
on Innovation,
the Committee
on the
Patent
System,
the National
Inventors
Council
and the
Industrial
Research
Institute.
He was
the first
recipient
of the
Saint
Louis
Technology
Award.
