Dr. Conroy
is professor
of anatomy &
anthropology
at Washington
University Medical
School, St.
Louis. He has
worked in nearly
every epoch
of primate and
human fossil
history and
has conducted
paleoanthropological
research in
many countries
around the world
including Ethiopia,
Namibia, South
Africa, Kenya,
Argentina, and
Pakistan. In
1991 his research
team discovered
the first (and
thus far only)
fossil evidence
of prehuman
apelike primates
ever found in
sub-equatorial
Africa. He has
also applied
state-of-the-art
computer imaging
techniques to
investigate
anatomical structures
in extinct primates
and fossil humans.
